Strengthening democracy.Advancing participation.Connecting Europe.
The Central European Democracy Forum (CEDF) works to strengthen democratic structures, expand social partnership and advance European integration in Central and Southeastern Europe.
We understand democracy not merely as a political system, but as the foundation of social cohesion, economic stability and sustainable development. A vibrant social dialogue and strong democratic institutions are essential preconditions for peace, prosperity and social cohesion.
Through dialogue, networking and international cooperation we create spaces for exchange and shared solutions. Our work connects actors from politics, academia, social partnership and civil society — together we help strengthen democratic institutions and anchor European values in the region.
Solidarity.
We stand for a Europe of social cohesion and shared responsibility.
Participation.
Democracy lives on participation. We advocate structures that enable co-determination and bring different perspectives to the table.
Transparency.
Trust grows from openness and accountability. Transparency is the foundation of responsible action.

Our goals
Strengthening democratic structures
We foster democratic competences and support the development of models for participation and co-determination in society and the world of work.
Promoting the rule of law & fundamental rights
Democratic institutions need trust, transparency and firmly anchored rule-of-law principles. We work to strengthen European fundamental values and promote active civic participation.
Supporting European integration
A united Europe thrives on cooperation and common standards. We contribute to deepening European integration and to fostering stable economic and social conditions.
Expanding social partnership
Social dialogue is a key pillar of democratic societies. We support the establishment and further development of social-partnership structures and professional exchange between actors across the region.
Fostering civic participation
A resilient democracy needs informed and engaged citizens. Civic education and social participation are therefore a central focus of our work.
